Ladiestory.id - Ajang penghargaan musik Gaon Chart Music Award 2022 telah sukses digelar pada Kamis (27/1/2022) bertempat di Jamsil Area, Korea Selatan.
Sejumlah idol pun terlihat hadir memeriahkan acara tersebut. Dipandu oleh Doyoung NCT, Sieun STAYC dan MC Jaejae, pemenang Gaon Chart Music Award ditentukan berdasarkan penampilan komersial lagu maupun album di Gaon Music Chart nasional.
Dilansir dari Soompi, untuk nominasi Artist of The Year dibagi menjadi dua kategori yaitu kategori musik digital dan album fisik.
Penghargaan dalam kategori musik digital diberikan pada lagu dengan jumlah unduhan dan streaming digital tertinggi tiap bulannya, terhitung sejak Desember 2020 hingga November 2021.
Sedangkan untuk penghargaan album fisik diberikan kepada album dengan penjualan tertinggi untuk setiap kuartal selama periode yang sama.
Di penghargaan tahun ini, tercatat boyband BTS dan penyanyi solo IU berhasil memboyong banyak piala kemenangan atas karya dan penampilannya sepanjang tahun lalu.
Selain itu, Twice, NCT Dream dan NCT 127 yang sebelumnya sempat mendapatkan Baeksang pun turut menjadi pemenang di beberapa kategori.
